Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and home care environments. This role is vital in promoting independence, safety, and well-being for clients with diverse needs, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those requiring hospice or dementia care. Duties
- Assist clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and comfort.
- Provide patient care including medication administration following prescribed protocols.
- Support with meal preparation and feeding as needed, ensuring nutritional requirements are met.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and maintaining a safe environment for clients.
- Assist with mobility and heavy lifting to ensure safety during transfers or repositioning.
- Monitor and report changes in health status or behavior to healthcare professionals or family members.
- Support clients with dementia or cognitive impairments through engaging activities and companionship.
- Administer medications accurately and timely according to care plans.
- Document care provided and maintain detailed records of client progress and incidents.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver comprehensive support tailored to individual needs.
Skills
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, hospice, or home care settings is preferred.
- Strong caregiving skills with a focus on patient safety, dignity, and respect.
- Knowledge of dementia care, senior care, disability support, and medication administration.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility needs.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Compassionate attitude with patience and empathy for individuals facing health challenges.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in fast-paced environments.
- Basic skills in meal preparation and light cleaning are advantageous but not mandatory.
