The Black Canadian Child and Family Services Society (BCCFSS) is a community-rooted organization committed to supporting children and families through culturally responsive, inclusive, and relationship-based care.
We are currently building a strong network of professional Home Child Care Providers across Durham Region who are passionate about nurturing children and creating welcoming, high-quality home-based learning environments.

Compensation
$180 – $350 per day
Compensation is based on enrollment and the number of children in care.
Enrollment within your home child care program can equate to approximately $180–$350 daily earning potential.
About the Role
As a Home Child Care Provider with BCCFSS, you will operate a child care program directly from your own home while receiving ongoing support from our agency team.
Providers are responsible for:
- Providing care for children within their home
- Creating a safe, nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment
- Supporting children’s emotional, social, and developmental growth
- Building strong, respectful relationships with families
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming home child care setting

Who We’re Looking For

- Individuals passionate about culturally responsive and inclusive care
- Experienced home child care providers looking for stronger support and community
We strongly value individuals with backgrounds in:
- Early Childhood Education (ECE)
- Child and Youth Work (CYW)
- Child development and family support fields
We also welcome experienced providers who have successfully cared for children in their homes for many years, even if their experience comes through hands-on care rather than formal education.
We are looking for individuals who demonstrate:
- Strong knowledge of child development
- Warm, nurturing, and responsive caregiving
- Professionalism and reliability
- Consistency and strong communication skills
- A genuine passion for supporting children and families
Requirements
- Experience caring for children
- A safe and suitable home environment for child care
- First Aid & CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Vulnerable Sector Check
- Willingness to operate within a licensed Home Child Care Agency model
