Commercial HVAC Service Technician

Legacy Heating & Cooling is one of Alberta’s fastest-growing HVAC & Plumbing contractors, known for delivering high-quality commercial HVAC service with professionalism and reliability. We are seeking a skilled Commercial HVAC Service Technician to join our growing team.
The Commercial Service Technician is responsible for performing service, maintenance, and repairs on commercial HVAC systems. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
· Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial HVAC equipment.
· Perform preventative maintenance on rooftop units, boilers, make-up air units, fan coils, heat pumps, furnace’s and related systems.
· Troubleshoot HVAC equipment.
· Diagnose mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, airflow, and gas-related issues.
· Repair or replace defective components such as motors, compressors, valves, sensors, controls, and wiring.
· Test systems for refrigerant leaks, pressure integrity, and proper operation
· Troubleshoot and service gas-fired equipment and associated controls
· Complete service reports and documentation accurately and professionally.
· Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
· Participate in on-call rotations as required.
· Communicate professionally with customers, suppliers, and team members.
Qualifications & Experience
· Registered 3rd or 4th Year HVAC/Refrigeration Apprentice.
· Experience working on commercial HVAC equipment.
· Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
· Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driver's abstract.
· Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to learn.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions
· Work performed at commercial job sites
· Travel within Edmonton and surrounding areas
· Work in mechanical rooms, rooftops, and various commercial environments
· Occasional overtime and on-call rotation may be required
