Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Trucking Dispatcher to coordinate and manage freight transportation operations. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring efficient dispatching, communication, and tracking of shipments within a fast-paced logistics environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong communication skills and experience in transportation management systems to contribute to the smooth flow of supply chain activities.
Duties
- Coordinate daily trucking schedules, ensuring timely pickup and delivery of freight.
- Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) such as SyteLine and AS400 to plan routes, assign loads, and monitor shipments.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, clients, and warehouse personnel via multi-line phone systems and phone etiquette.
- Enter data accurately into shipping & receiving databases, maintaining up-to-date records of freight movements.
- Analyze shipment data to identify delays or issues, providing solutions to optimize logistics operations.
- Collaborate with third-party logistics providers (3PL) to coordinate freight movement and resolve discrepancies.
- Manage shipping & receiving documentation, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
- Provide exceptional customer service through clear communication and problem-solving skills during shipment coordination.
Skills
- Proficiency with transportation management systems such as SyteLine, AS400, and other logistics software.
- Strong understanding of supply chain processes and freight management.
- Experience working with 3PL providers and knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures.
- Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy and typing speed.
- Strong analysis skills to interpret shipment data and troubleshoot issues efficiently.
- Effective communication skills, including phone etiquette and multi-line phone system operation.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Familiarity with freight regulations, shipping documentation, and warehouse operations is preferred.
