Epoxy Flooring Technician Assistant
Location: Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM)
Job Type: Part-Time / On-Call (to start)
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour (based on experience)
Hours: Flexible
Superior Surfaces Epoxy is looking for a hardworking, reliable, and motivated individual to join our growing team.
This position will start as part-time/on-call with flexible hours and offers excellent opportunities for advancement as the company continues to grow. We are looking for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in quality craftsmanship, and is willing to learn the epoxy flooring trade.
Responsibilities
- Operate concrete floor grinders to prepare surfaces for epoxy coatings
- Use hand grinders and edging tools for corners, edges, and detailed areas
- Assist with floor preparation including grinding, vacuuming, patching, cleaning, and sanding
- Mix epoxy products, metallic pigments, colourants, and decorative flakes
- Assist with epoxy installation and finishing processes
- Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas
- Safely use acetone and other approved cleaning products
- Load, unload, and transport materials and equipment as required
- Assist lead installers with all aspects of project completion
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional job site
- Follow company safety procedures and standards
Requirements
- Valid Nova Scotia Driver’s License
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Fluent English (spoken and written)
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical labour throughout the day
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experience in construction, flooring, painting, concrete, or epoxy coatings is considered an asset but is not required. Training will be provided to the right candidate.
