Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Operator for a Grass Tractor to maintain and enhance landscape areas through precise and efficient operation of turf equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in landscape maintenance, horticulture, and mechanical knowledge, ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality. This role involves working outdoors on various projects that require attention to detail and a proactive approach to equipment care and landscape upkeep.
Duties
- Operate grass tractors and related machinery to mow, trim, and maintain lawns and landscaped areas
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment for routine maintenance and repairs
- Maintain equipment through regular inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs
- Support construction or installation projects related to landscape improvements when needed
- Follow safety protocols during all operations to prevent accidents and ensure a safe work environment
- Transport grass tractors and equipment between sites using company trailers. Securely load, strap, and unload equipment in accordance with company procedures and transportation regulations, ensuring all equipment is safely secured and road-ready before travel.
Experience
- Prior experience operating grass tractors or heavy machinery is mandatory
- Mechanical knowledge related to maintenance of power tools and construction equipment is preferred
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and basic construction or landscaping techniques is advantageous
- Previous work in horticulture or landscape construction will be considered an asset
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions with physical stamina for prolonged periods of operation
- Thorough knowledge of equipment transportation, including proper loading, securement, and strapping techniques for tractors and turf equipment.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, with the ability to identify and mitigate hazards related to equipment transport and operation.
- Valid driver's license with experience towing trailers considered an asset.
Pay: $24.00-$29.00 per hour
