About the Role:
The Account Manager – Infrastructure & Energy Solutions is responsible for driving profitable sales growth across the agency's portfolio of Power Systems and Non-Lighting Electrical products throughout the Greater Toronto Area.
This role develops strong relationships with consulting engineers, electrical contractors, low-voltage contractors, data centre operators, utilities, industrial end users, developers, EPC firms, and distribution partners to position the agency as the preferred technical sales partner for mission-critical electrical infrastructure.
The successful candidate combines strong technical aptitude with consultative selling skills to identify opportunities early in the design cycle, influence specifications, and successfully guide projects from concept through commissioning.
What you’ll do:
Business Development & Sales
- Achieve annual sales, gross margin, and strategic growth objectives.
- Develop and execute territory and account business plans focused on infrastructure and energy markets.
- Identify and pursue new opportunities within commercial, industrial, institutional, utility, renewable energy, and mission-critical sectors.
- Grow market share with existing customers while developing new strategic accounts.
- Develop relationships with key decision makers across engineering firms, contractors, owners, developers, utilities, and technology organizations.
- Develop business within key market verticals
Infrastructure & Project Development
- Promote Cable Bus, structured cabling, and energy infrastructure solutions during project design and specification.
- Identify projects early through consultants, end users, and developers.
- Position products through technical presentations, value engineering, and life-cycle cost analysis.
- Track opportunities from specification through quotation, award, installation, and project close-out.
- Coordinate project strategy with manufacturers and internal project teams.
Customer Relationship Management
- Become the trusted advisor for customers requiring complex electrical infrastructure solutions.
- Conduct regular customer visits, site reviews, and project meetings.
- Deliver technical presentations, lunch-and-learns, and product training.
- Develop executive relationships with owners, consultants, contractors, and distribution partners.
- Resolve customer concerns quickly while maintaining exceptional customer satisfaction.
Manufacturer Representation
- Represent assigned manufacturers professionally throughout Ontario.
- Develop annual strategic plans with manufacturer partners.
- Coordinate joint customer visits and project strategy sessions.
- Attend manufacturer training, sales meetings, and industry events.
- Provide market intelligence and competitive feedback.
Internal Collaboration
- Work closely with Quotations, Project Management, Customer Service, Technical Services, and Operations.
- Assist with project strategy, pricing, and competitive positioning.
- Support forecasting and sales planning.
- Participate in strategic sales reviews and pipeline meetings.
CRM & Sales Administration
- Maintain accurate CRM records for customers, opportunities, contacts, and project activity.
- Develop accurate sales forecasts and pipeline reporting.
- Track project milestones and customer interactions.
- Maintain KPI reporting and annual account plans.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of technical sales experience in electrical infrastructure, power distribution, structured cabling, data centre infrastructure, energy solutions, or industrial electrical products.
- Strong understanding of Ontario's electrical consulting and contractor market.
- Proven success developing relationships with consulting engineers, electrical contractors, end users, utilities, and distribution partners.
- Experience managing large commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
- Excellent presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Highly organized with strong project management capabilities.
- Valid Ontario driver's licence with the ability to travel throughout the GTA.
