We are currently seeking a full-time Junior Environmental Scientist.
The Junior Environmental Scientist will support the SEM team in completing project-based work for a variety of clients. This position will be based at our office in St. John’s, NL.
Responsibilities
- Environmental data organization and analysis
- Desktop review and interpretation of scientific literature and regulatory framework
- Participation in planning and execution of baseline studies
- Support data compilation and calculation exercises for climate change projects
- Technical report writing in a wide range of environmental specialities including, but not limited to, atmospheric science, noise, contaminated sites monitoring, water quality, environmental protection; interest to learn and perform tasks outside of area of skills and studies considered an asset.
- Collaborate with a team of subject matter experts to deliver high-quality environmental services to meet deadlines
Requirements
- Post-secondary education in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or related field of study; completion of a thesis-based program considered an asset
- 1-3 years of relevant experience; consulting experience considered an asset
- Writing experience is a must; a writing sample will be required for interview candidate
- Willingness to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Keen learner with organizational skills and attention to details
- Positive attitude with strong communication and problem-solving skills
