ABOUT THE POSITION
Job Overview
The Room Attendant is responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and preparing guest rooms to hotel standards. This role ensures a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for guests by delivering high-quality housekeeping service and attention to detail.
Duties and Responsibilities

Clean and service guest rooms according to hotel standards and procedures

Make beds, change linens, and replace towels

Clean bathrooms, including sinks, toilets, showers, and mirrors
-
Vacuum carpets, mop floors, and dust furniture and fixtures
-
Replenish guest room amenities and supplies
-
Inspect rooms for cleanliness, damages, or maintenance issues and report them to the supervisor
-
Follow daily cleaning schedules and productivity standards
-
Respond to guest requests in a courteous and professional manner
-
Properly use and maintain housekeeping equipment and supplies
Qualifications and Requirements
-
Previous housekeeping or room attendant experience is an asset but not required
-
Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
-
Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
-
Good communication and customer service skills
-
Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, pushing carts, standing, and walking for extended periods
-
Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays
HEALTH AND SAFETY
Duties and Responsibilities
-
Follow safe work procedures as outlined in Departmental Policy and Procedures manuals, including the use of personal protective equipment.

Know and comply with all Occupational Health & Safety regulations, as per the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Ministry of Labour.

Report all injuries or illnesses to a supervisor or manager immediately.
-
Participate in Joint Health and Safety Committee by bringing health and safety concerns or issues to the attention of the committee.
COMPENSATION
Pay Rate
-
$19.48 per hour during probationary period. After probation, rate will change to $20.50 per hour.
