Stray Cat Industrial is looking to fill numerous General Skilled painting, coating and blasting positions. We have seen an increase in demand from new and existing clients. Stray Cat provides first class coating services to the commercial and industrial industry. We are a Leader in primary and Secondary Containments liners, pipe coatings, floors coatings, tank lining, wastewater and Fire Retardant applications.
The applicant must be able to travel within Canada and will be required to perform daily tasks received by our superintendents. Our crews currently travel across Canada to service clients and perform the project requirements set out. Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
- Assist with mobilization and demobilization of equipment, trailers, generators, compressors.
- Take direction from superintendent for job set up and execution.
- Must be able to perform heavy lifting
- Work under adverse weather conditions in multiple geographic locations
- Reading and understanding of Technical Data Sheets
- Ability to read and understand engineered drawings and details
- Preparation of surfaces, taping, masking off areas.
- Perform abrasive wet or dry sand blasting
- Continually organize job fronts, tool organization.
- Keep jobsite clean of garbage debris, tools and tripping hazards.
- Build knowledge of coating types and technical requirements for coatings.
Applicants should have the following skills, education, or experience:
- Sand Blasting experience considered an asset
- Coatings Experience with epoxy, polyurethane, high solids coatings or mortar is preferred.
- Class 5 drivers license
- Construction general knowledge
- Understanding of technical specifications for coatings is preferred.
- H2S Alive
- WHIMIS
- NACE Certification considered an asset
- Minimum 2 years in the construction industry
Applicants are required to provide standard PPE such as Steel toed boots, side impact hard hat
Wage $26.00-$40.00/hr based on experience level and qualifications
