Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to ensure efficient, high-quality, and cost-effective production. This role partners with cross-functional teams including production, quality, and supply chain to drive continuous improvement, support new product introductions, and solve complex production challenges.
Job Duties:
- Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain quality standards.
- Collaborate with product design and engineering teams to support new product introductions, including process design, prototyping, and validation.
- Conduct time studies, workflow analyses, and capacity planning to optimize production lines.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing issues, implement corrective actions, and provide technical support to production teams.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Implement Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
- Coordinate with maintenance and quality teams to ensure equipment reliability and compliance with safety standards.
- Support automation initiatives and evaluate new manufacturing technologies for feasibility and ROI.
- Monitor production metrics and provide data-driven recommendations for process improvements.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in switchgear, electrical, or industrial equipment manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience with process design, workflow optimization, and production planning.
- Proficiency with CAD software and manufacturing simulation tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with automation, robotics, or smart manufacturing technologies.
- Knowledge of quality standards (ISO 9001, CSA, UL, or equivalent).
- Ability to lead projects and mentor junior engineers.
