Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments to ensure a safe and efficient environment for every patient.
- Assist dentists during procedures such as cleanings, fillings, orthodontic adjustments, and other dental treatments.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) technology for precise diagnostics.
- Manage patient records accurately using software like Epic or Dentrix, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with privacy standards.
- Provide excellent customer service as a dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, confirming patient information, and answering queries.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote long-term dental health.
- Support pediatric and orthodontic patients with specialized care techniques to ensure comfort and cooperation during visits.
Skills
- Proficiency in dental software such as Dentrix or Epic for scheduling, charting, and record management.
- Experience with orthodontics procedures and assisting in orthodontic adjustments.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry and oral health.
- Skilled in dental assisting techniques including instrument transfer, suctioning, and patient positioning.
- Familiarity with CAD technology for capturing detailed digital impressions or images.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations, including pediatrics.
- Previous experience working as a dental receptionist or in a customer service role within a healthcare setting is preferred.
