No Limits Underground Ltd. is looking for an experienced Backhoe Operator to join our growing team.
We specialize in underground construction throughout Manitoba and Saskatchewan, completing projects in water and sewer, telecommunications, directional drilling support, utility installations, and civil infrastructure.
This position requires regular out-of-town travel. Successful applicants must be willing to travel and work away from home as project schedules require. Company-paid accommodations and travel are provided when working out of town.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a backhoe in a variety of underground construction applications.
- Excavate for water, sewer, telecom, electrical, and utility installations.
- Perform trenching, backfilling, grading, loading trucks, and site cleanup.
- Work safely around existing underground utilities using proper excavation practices.
- Read utility locates, grade stakes, and construction drawings.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and perform basic preventative maintenance.
- Work closely with foremen, operators, labourers, pipe layers, and project managers to complete projects safely and efficiently.
- Assist with general labour duties when equipment is not in operation.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of backhoe operating experience.
- Experience in underground utility construction is preferred.
- Experience with water & sewer, telecommunications, and civil infrastructure projects is an asset.
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence (Class 3A is an asset).
- Strong understanding of safe excavation practices and working around underground infrastructure.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Willing to work overtime as required.
- Must be willing and able to work out of town for extended periods.
