Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Full-Time or Seasonal Welder to join our team. This role involves performing various welding and fabrication tasks to support our heavy equipment technicians. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding techniques, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work independently. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with diverse responsibilities, utilizing a wide range of tools and equipment to produce high-quality metal components for a large fleet of trucks and trailers.
Responsibilities
- Perform MIG and stick welding on various materials according to project specifications
- Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, and other measuring instruments to ensure accurate assembly and fabrication
- Conduct rigging operations and assist with crane setup for lifting heavy materials safely
- Support mechanics as needed
- Follow safety protocols related to welding, crane operation, and general shop procedures
- Assist in the setup and operation of forklift and/or zoom boom for material handling when necessary
- Ensure all work meets quality standards through inspection and testing
- Report directly to your shop foreman
Requirements
- Proven experience welding
- Ability to problem solve independently
- Mechanical knowledge
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, calipers, etc
- Knowledge of rigging procedures and crane operation is a plus
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations during fabrication processes
- Ability to work either full-time or seasonal schedules depending on project needs
- Strong attention to safety protocols related to welding, machinery operation, and material handling
