Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver - Class 1 to join our team. This role involves operating heavy-duty trucks to transport freight safely and efficiently across various routes. Duties
- Safely operate Class 1 trucks for local and long-distance freight transportation
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, shipping documents, and freight documentation
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to ensure vehicle operability
- Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during operation
- Assist with warehouse operations, including loading, unloading, and inventory management
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery schedules and issues
Skills
- Valid Class 1 commercial driver’s license (CDL) with clean driving record
- Experience with freight transportation and commercial driving regulations
- Ability to operate forklift and other heavy equipment safely
- Knowledge of automotive repair basics for troubleshooting vehicle issues
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to heavy equipment operation and freight handling
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight schedules
- Physical ability to load/unload freight, lift heavy objects, and perform vehicle inspections
- Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients
