Job Summary
Hager Industries Inc. is seeking an experienced Pipefitter / Welder to join our installation team. We specialize in custom stainless steel fabrication and engineered process piping solutions for the food processing and compressed gas industries.
This position focuses on shop fabrication and on-site installation of process piping systems at customer facilities across the Greater Toronto Area. The ideal candidate will possess strong welding expertise, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to interpret complex schematics and blueprints. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects requiring precision welding and pipe fitting skills, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as ASME codes.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings related to process piping systems.
- Perform TIG welding, SMAW, brazing & fitting on various pipe materials for ASME B31.3 applications
- Cut, thread and assemble pipes using hand tools, power tools, and tube bending equipment.
- Install piping systems according to specifications while adhering to safety protocols and industry standards.
- Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on existing piping infrastructure.
- Rigging and lifting heavy pipes or equipment safely during installation or maintenance activities.
- Ensure all work complies with ASME codes & standards and project specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment on construction sites or manufacturing facilities.
Requirements
- Proven experience in welding (TIG, SMAW), pipe fitting, and process piping installation.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, calipers, pipe threading equipment, and other relevant tools.
- Knowledge of ASME codes & standards related to piping fabrication and installation.
- Experience working in construction sites or manufacturing environments with a focus on pipeline or process piping projects.
- Strong understanding of basic math for measurements and calculations during fabrication.
- Ability to work safely at heights or in confined spaces as required by job tasks.
- Relevant certifications in pipe welding TSSA 6G
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
