Job Overview:
The Yard Labourer is responsible for supporting day-to-day operations at our Burlington yard by maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment. This hands-on role involves assisting with yard upkeep, supporting equipment operators, handling materials, and performing general labour tasks both in the yard and shop. The position requires working outdoors in various weather conditions and contributing to efficient yard operations, with occasional work at our Brampton location as needed.
Responsibilities
· Maintain cleanliness and organization of the yard, shop, and storage areas.
· Perform general yard clean-up, including debris removal and material sorting.
· Assist machine operators and shop staff with day-to-day activities.
· Load and unload trucks, equipment, and materials safely and efficiently.
· Organize tools, equipment, and materials in designated areas.
· Paint steel bins, containers, and other yard equipment as required
· Support inventory handling and yard logistics
· Ensure compliance with health and safety standards at all times.
· Perform other general labour tasks as assigned
Working Conditions
· Work performed outdoors in all weather conditions and seasons.
· Exposure to construction and industrial environments.
· Physical labour required on a daily basis.
Requirements & Qualifications
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
· Comfortable climbing ladders and working at heights when required.
· Physically able and capable of performing manual labour.
· Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
· Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and as part of a team.
· Reliable transportation to Burlington yard (occasional travel to Brampton yard required)
Compensation: $25 per hour and benefits
