Precision Sheet Metal Shop in Richmond is looking for a LASER OPERATOR to operate the Mitsubishi ML3015 laser machine .
Hours are from 4:00pm to 2:30am Monday to Thursday OR 2:30AM TO 11AM - MUST DRIVE- NO TRANSIT AVAILABLE. Please include which shift you are applying for.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operate the CNC laser cutting machine and other machinery used in the production process, or assist other machine operators.

Select and set up lenses based on material type and thickness, load programs and set machine parameters to ensure optimal performance of the equipment.

Knowledge about shield gases used during laser cutting operation.

Work in a fast paced environment with fast changing priorities.

Keep work area clean and organized.
-
Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task.

Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency.

Follow all company rules and policies.

Follow all safety rules and quality standards.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
-
1+ years of experience on Mitsubishi / similar Laser cutting machines .
-
High school diploma is preferred.
-
Background working in Sheet metal.
-
Knowledge of tooling and tool maintenance.
-
Ability to distinguish material types including Aluminum, Steel, Stainless Steel, Copper and Brass. - Flexible schedule is required; this position requires shift work as well as some weekend work.

Strong team player.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS (PREFERRED)

Knowledge of lifting techniques.

Ability to read blueprints.

Ability to lift heavy items 40 lbs.

Basic knowledge of AutoCAD.

TruTops or Metamation programming experience.
