About the Opportunity!
We are looking for a Payroll and Benefits Administrator to act as a support to all internal clients and will facilitate and manage the payroll and benefits functions for the organization. Under the direction of the HR Manager , the Payroll and Benefits administrator offers support and guidance on benefits, payroll and systems administration. This role will also promote, encourage, and foster a positive and cooperative environment in collaboration with the union, leadership, and employees.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Support the HR Manager in supporting day-to-day Labour Relations/Employee Relations matters in compliance with the Collective Agreement and legislation
· Execute the weekly Payroll and HRIS Administration), including but not limited to auditing hours: Quarterly COLA updates/administration
· Monthly/Annual Pension administration (CWIPP); ensuring tiered earnings, administering new hires, retirees, etc.
· Vacation and Banked Hours Tracking
· Provide general reporting and support data requests
· Union Dues and Education fund calculations and submission
· Safety Boot and Tool Allowance tracking
· Participate in regular audits
Provide administrative support to include:
- Preparing employment contracts and facilitating new hire/termination paperwork
- Arranging and facilitating orientation, and onboarding
- Maintain employee files
- Provide recruiting support, preparing and posting internal/external job postings, scheduling interviews, etc.
- Support the employee benefit plan by enrolling employees in a timely manner, ensuring documentation is secured and employee education on their benefits is conducted. Oversee the service awards program
- Manage company events such as Christmas luncheon, etc.

WHAT DO YOU BRING?

· College Diploma in Business Administration with a focus on payroll/benefits administration
· Payroll designation is preferred
· Three (3) to five (5) years’ related payroll experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment; unionized experience would be an asset.
· Demonstrated strong understanding of, and experience managing and processing Payroll and benefits
· Proficient in ADP Dayforce is required.
· Demonstrated ability to accurately calculate, post, correct, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
· Must possess a high level of moral judgment for handling confidential information and monetary transactions
· High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel
· Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
· Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
· Proficient communication and organizational skills
· Ability to perform light physical tasks (lifting, moving items)
· Adaptable with a willingness to learn, grow and develop
· Able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of accuracy, attention to detail and timeliness
· Demonstrated ability to work independently or within a team setting.
· Strong tact, solid judgment and collaborative skills
· Aptitude for critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making

The Ontario pay range for this position is $ 65,000 to $75,000 per annum.
