Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Skid Steer Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating skid steers and other heavy equipment to support various construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of heavy machinery, mechanical knowledge, and experience in construction environments. The successful candidate will contribute to the timely completion of projects while maintaining safety standards and operational excellence.
Duties
- Operate skid steers and related heavy equipment such as dozers, excavators, loaders, backhoes, graders, and pavers to perform site preparation, grading, excavation, and material handling
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance
- Assist with horizontal drilling, paving, and other specialized construction tasks as needed
- Coordinate with team members to execute project plans efficiently and safely
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and ensure a safe work environment
- Support the setup and breakdown of construction sites, including moving materials and debris
- Maintain detailed records of equipment usage, inspections, and work performed
Skills
- Proven experience operating skid steers in a construction setting with knowledge of heavy equipment operation
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy machinery maintenance and troubleshooting
- Proficiency in operating dozers, excavators, loaders, backhoes, graders, and paving equipment is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of construction processes including horizontal drilling and site grading
- Ability to operate Caterpillar machinery or similar brands with confidence
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred for transporting equipment or materials between sites
- Knowledge of safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and construction sites
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
