Overview
Edmonton Dermatology & Skin Surgery Centre is looking for a full time Licensed Practical Nurse for it's busy surgical team on Monday through Friday to float between 2 surgical teams. We are a Non-Hospital Surgical Facility with our main focus being skin cancer surgery. Candidates must be comfortable working in an operating room setting. The position is very much hands on and the candidate will have proper and extensive training.

Responsibilities
- Perform routine nursing duties such as taking vital signs, administering medications, and providing basic patient care under the supervision of the surgeons or physicians
- Assist with patient assessments, documenting observations accurately and promptly in medical records
- Monitor patient conditions closely and report any changes or concerns to the healthcare team immediately
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols and safety standards
- Educate patients and their families on health management, medication routines, and post-discharge care instructions
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, comprehensive care delivery
Skills
- Valid provincial licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with current certification
- Strong knowledge of basic nursing practices, procedures, and medical terminology
- Excellent communication skills to interact empathetically with patients and team members
- Ability to multitask efficiently in fast-paced healthcare settings while maintaining attention to detail
- Compassionate approach with a commitment to providing respectful patient-centered care
- Basic proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and documentation standards
Other:
- We are closed on weekends and STAT holidays.
- Wage dependent on experience and negotiable. ($24-$25/hour)
- The shift is 7:30-3:30 or 8:30-4:30 Monday to Friday.
