Overview
We are seeking a skilled Gas Fitter to join our team, responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing gas systems in residential, commercial and industrial settings. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to interpret technical schematics and blueprints. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects that require precision and safety compliance, contributing to the reliable delivery of gas services across various industries.
Duties
- Install, repair, and maintain gas piping systems in accordance with industry standards and safety regulations
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate installation and repairs
- Utilize hand tools, welding equipment (MIG, TIG), and rigging techniques to assemble and modify piping systems
- Conduct routine inspections of gas lines and related components to identify potential issues
- Apply mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot system malfunctions and perform necessary repairs
- Use calipers and basic math skills for precise measurements during installation and maintenance procedures
- Assist with plumbing tasks related to gas systems as needed
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all phases of work, ensuring compliance with industry regulations
- Maintain detailed records of work performed and parts used for each project
Skills
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, plumbing, and mechanical maintenance
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams accurately
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to manufacturing, construction, or maintenance environments
- Experience with hand tools, calipers, rigging equipment, and basic math calculations
- Familiarity with schematics related to gas systems and general construction practices
- Knowledge of safety standards related to gas fitting and industrial work environments
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in troubleshooting complex systems
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
