Location: Bell Park Academic Centre, 4 Thomas Street, Preston, NS
Start Date: September 2026
Interviews: August 2026
Position Details
- Average of 40 hours bi-weekly
- Health & Dental Benefits included
- Monday to Friday after school hours (1:30 - 5:30)
- Position begins in September 2026
Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage children in a safe, positive environment
- Plan and lead games, crafts, sports, STEM activities, and other recreational programming
- Support children's social, emotional, and personal development
- Assist with homework support when needed
- Maintain a clean and organized program space
- Communicate professionally with staff, parents, and guardians
- Follow all BGC Preston policies and procedures
Qualifications
- No previous experience is required.
- Previous experience working with children, volunteering, coaching, or leading youth programs is considered an asset and will strengthen your application.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, energetic, and enthusiastic.
- Valid First Aid & CPR certification is required. If you do not currently have certification, BGC Preston will arrange and cover the cost of training after two months of employment.
- A Child Abuse Registry Check and Vulnerable Sector Check are required prior to employment.
