Parr Mechanical Plumbing & Heating is looking for an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join our growing team. We are seeking someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented and confident taking ownership of the day-to-day financial functions of a busy plumbing and HVAC company.
This position is ideal for an experienced bookkeeper who is comfortable working independently, managing multiple priorities and ensuring our financial records are accurate and up to date.
Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping
- Accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Process and reconcile vendor invoices and payments
- Prepare customer invoicing and monitor outstanding accounts
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
- Assist with collections and account follow-up
- Process payroll and maintain accurate payroll records
- Prepare HST remittances
- Assist with WSIB reporting and reconciliations
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Complete month-end bookkeeping procedures
- Assist with year-end preparation and provide documentation to our external accountant
- Prepare regular financial reports for management
- Assist with job costing and tracking project expenses
- Monitor expenses and identify discrepancies or unusual transactions
- Maintain organized and accurate financial records
- Assist management with budgeting, reporting and financial information as required
- Identify opportunities to improve bookkeeping and administrative processes
- Work closely with management and other office staff to ensure accurate financial information
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience preferred
- Strong full-cycle bookkeeping experience
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and reconciliations
- Knowledge of HST, payroll remittances and WSIB
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles
- Experience with accounting software
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities
- Ability to identify discrepancies and problem-solve
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in construction, HVAC, plumbing or the skilled trades is considered a strong asset

Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
