Lead Hand – Restoration

Grimebusters Ltd. is looking for an experienced Lead Hand – Restoration to join our team.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone with strong restoration and construction knowledge who can lead a crew, work safely, communicate with Project Managers and clients, and maintain high-quality workmanship.
What You'll Do
- Lead and work alongside restoration technicians.
- Coordinate daily crew activities and follow project scopes.
- Perform and oversee water mitigation, demolition, cleaning, contents handling, and restoration.
- Identify construction materials and understand their response to water, mould, and demolition.
- Assist with mould remediation, including containment, PPE, negative air, and HEPA equipment.
- Work around asbestos-containing materials and understand required hazards, controls, and procedures.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and restoration equipment.
- Identify hazards and stop work when conditions are unsafe.
- Train, coach, and support technicians.
- Communicate job progress, issues, materials, and additional scope to the Project Manager.
- Complete daily photos, documentation, time tracking, equipment records, and job notes.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe jobsites.
- Communicate professionally with homeowners, tenants, property managers, insurers, and contractors.
- Perform quality-control checks before leaving the jobsite.
- Identify potential change orders and additional work.
- Operate company vehicles and equipment as required.
What You Need
- 3+ years restoration, construction, or related experience
- Previous crew leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of construction materials and building assemblies
- Water damage restoration and demolition experience
- Mould remediation and containment experience
- Understanding of asbestos hazards and required controls
- Strong jobsite safety awareness
- Valid Class 5 driver's license & 3 years consistent driving insurance
- Ability to perform physical restoration work
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Professional attitude and appearance
- Ability to work independently and lead a team
Assets
- Lead Hand, Crew Lead, Foreman, or Supervisor experience
- IICRC training/certifications
- Mould remediation training
- Asbestos worker/awareness training
- WHMIS 2015
- First Aid/CPR
- CompanyCam, or Jobber experience
- Xactimate and insurance restoration experience
