About the Role:
We are currently seeking a motivated and service-oriented Evening Operations Manager to oversee nightly operations across multiple departments at the Hume Hotel & Spa. This is a hands-on leadership position that plays a vital role in ensuring seamless evening operations, supporting front-line staff, responding to guest needs, and maintaining our high standards of hospitality and service.
This role acts as the Manager on Duty during evening hours and requires strong leadership, sound decision-making, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Schedule:
Weekdays: 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM
Weekends: 5:00 PM – 1:00 AM
Availability on weekends and holidays is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as Manager on Duty, overseeing the smooth operation of the hotel across all departments during evening hours
- Provide hands-on leadership support across all outlets—including the Library Lounge, Mike’s Place Pub, General Store Restaurant, The Beer Garden, The new concept Spiritbar, Liquor Boutique, and Aura Spa & Salon—by actively assisting with service flow, bar operations, expediting, stock replenishment, keg changes, and ensuring consistent floor presence.
- Support Guest Services by assisting with guest requests, coordinating Hume-To-Go orders, and maintaining a visible management presence
- Monitor business levels and adjust staffing as needed to align with service standards and operational efficiency
- Ensure exceptional guest experiences by proactively resolving issues and maintaining service excellence
- Assist in expediting food to ensure timely and accurate service across all outlets
- Address and resolve guest concerns with professionalism, empathy and discretion, ensuring a positive outcome whenever possible
- Communicate effectively with both guests and team members to foster a supportive, positive, and professional environment
- Support menu updates and seasonal changes for food and beverage programs
- Assist in coordinating and executing events across hotel venues
- Make POS (Point-of-Sale) updates and adjustments as required
- Provide support with minor maintenance and security matters during evening operations
- Oversee monthly inventory
- Ensure all staff certifications (including SIR) are current and compliant
- Ensure all liquor service adheres to applicable regulations and company policies
- Coach and support team members during service to ensure strong performance and guest satisfaction
