Key Responsibilities
Month-End Close & Financial Accounting

Prepare journal entries and supporting schedules for an accurate, timely month-end close

Prepare and own balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accounts are complete, accurate, and review-ready

Analyze account activity to identify and resolve variances or unusual items

Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including audit requests and documentation
Business Support

Review customer billings and support project accounting and reporting

Assist with payroll processing and related reconciliations

Perform cash and bank reconciliations review and monitor account activity

Monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable aging, proactively identifying and escalating at-risk balances

Prepare indirect tax filings and other statutory reporting as needed

Contribute to intercompany and cross-functional accounting activities
Process Improvement

Drive ongoing improvements to accounting processes and systems

Identify and resolve process gaps or recurring issues alongside the Finance team

Help implement controls and efficiencies that improve accuracy and close timelines

Provide ad hoc analysis to support finance initiatives as needed
Qualifications

2–3 years of accounting experience spanning month-end close, reconciliations, and general accounting processes

Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline

Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite an asset)

Exposure to indirect tax and/or multi-entity environments an asset

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Able to manage competing priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment

Comfortable using modern productivity tools, including AI assistants such as Claude or Copilot, to work more efficiently

Month-end close activities are completed accurately and on schedule, with reconciliations prepared to a review-ready standard

Balance sheet accounts remain accurate, well-supported, and free of aged reconciling items

Working capital is actively monitored, with issues identified and addressed proactively

Increasing ownership is demonstrated over time, requiring less oversight while contributing to process improvements and operational excellence
