We’re looking for a confident, professional Retail Security Guard to join our team at a busy store in Guelph, Ontario. Your focus will be on being a visible presence, deterring theft, and handling any security or safety concerns before they escalate.
If you’re great with people, calm under pressure, and know how to balance customer service with enforcing store rules, we’d love to meet you.
What You’ll Do
- Be a professional, approachable presence in the store.
- Patrol sales floors, stockrooms, and exterior areas to deter theft and unwanted behaviour.
- Monitor for suspicious activity and take proactive steps to prevent incidents.
- Respond quickly to safety, security, or medical situations.
- De-escalate conflicts using tact and professionalism.
- Accurately document and report daily activities, incidents, and irregularities.
- Support staff, customers, and visitors while upholding store policies.
- Control access to restricted areas and keep walkways and exits clear.

What We’re Looking For
- Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence (required).
- First Aid & CPR Certification (required).
- Strong communication, observation, and problem-solving skills.
- Reliable, professional, and comfortable dealing with the public.
- Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends.
- Clear criminal record and eligibility to work in Canada.
Bonus Points If You Have
- Retail security or related experience.
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention or Mental Health First Aid training.
- De-escalation experience.
- Valid driver’s licence.
Schedule:
Friday 11 AM - 8:30 PM
Saturday 11 AM - 7:30 PM
Sunday 12 PM - 6:30 PM
This is a seasonal position, and hours may increase depending on store traffic.
Job Type: Seasonal
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
