Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Manual Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical knowledge and experience operating various machining equipment, including CNC lathe and CNC milling machines. This role involves interpreting blueprints, programming CNC machines, and utilizing hand tools to produce precision components. The Manual Machinist will play a vital part in ensuring the quality and accuracy of manufactured parts, supporting lean manufacturing processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
Duties
- Operate CNC machinery such as CNC lathe and CNC milling machines, with proficiency in Fanuc controls.
- Read and interpret technical blueprints, CAD models, and manufacturing drawings to produce precise parts.
- Program CNC machines using CNC programming languages, ensuring adherence to specifications.
- Use measuring tools such as calipers to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Perform machining operations using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment as needed.
- Maintain and troubleshoot machinery to ensure optimal performance; perform basic maintenance tasks.
- Assist with assembly processes when required, ensuring parts meet quality standards.
- Follow safety protocols, including proper use of forklifts and other equipment in the manufacturing environment.
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives by optimizing machining processes for efficiency and waste reduction.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Manual Machinist or in a similar manufacturing role.
- Mechanical knowledge with an understanding of machining principles and techniques.
- Proficiency in CNC programming and operation, especially Fanuc controls.
- Ability to read blueprints, CAD files, and technical drawings accurately.
- Familiarity with SolidWorks or other CAD software is a plus.
- Strong math skills for precise measurements and calculations.
- Experience with machining tools such as calipers, hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and forklifts.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and assembly processes is desirable.
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
Pay: $22.00-$40.00 per hour
