Assistant Sales Manager – Oxygen Yoga & Fitness
Position Summary
The Assistant Sales Manager plays a key leadership role in supporting the General Manager with the day-to-day operations of the studio. This position is responsible for driving membership sales, delivering an exceptional member experience, supporting and mentoring the sales and reception team, and ensuring the studio operates efficiently and professionally.
The ideal candidate is a motivated leader who is sales-driven, highly organized, customer-focused, and passionate about health and wellness. They lead by example, foster a positive team culture, and help ensure monthly sales goals and operational standards are consistently achieved.
Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Business Development
- Consistently meet or exceed individual and studio sales targets.
- Support the planning and execution of membership promotions, community events, pop-up classes, and fundraising initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to increase membership sales, retention, and overall studio growth.
- Assist with monthly promotional planning and contribute ideas to enhance the member experience.
- Maintain accurate sales logs and ensure all sales activities are properly documented.
Leadership & Team Support
- Act as the primary support to the General Manager.
- Lead and support the reception and sales team by providing coaching, guidance, and motivation.
- Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and training new team members.
- Answer staff questions and provide support during shifts and through team communication channels.
- Assume management responsibilities in the absence of the General Manager
Member Experience
- Deliver outstanding customer service and create a welcoming environment for all members and guests.
- Resolve member concerns, complaints, and account discrepancies professionally and efficiently.
- Ensure client accounts remain accurate, including balances, suspensions, memberships, and billing information.
- Escalate complex or high-risk situations to management when appropriate.
Studio Operations
- Ensure the studio is clean, organized, and maintained to the highest standards, including reception areas, washrooms, mirrors, fitness spaces, and common areas.
- Monitor studio equipment and report maintenance or repair needs promptly.
- Maintain accurate inventory of retail merchandise and studio supplies.
- Coordinate inventory reporting and notify management when supplies require replenishment.
Administration
- Complete operational logs accurately and on time.
- Respond to internal communications and operational emails promptly.
- Maintain organized and accurate client records.
- Attend scheduled meetings, training sessions, and team development opportunities.
- Ensure company policies, procedures, and operational standards are consistently followed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in sales, customer service, or a leadership role (fitness industry experience is considered an asset).
- Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Professional conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Passion for health, fitness, and creating exceptional member experiences.

Full time hours at one of our locations (downtown Halifax or Cole Harbour)
Shifts include: days, evenings and weekends
