Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and personable Senior Bartender to join our brand new vibrant hospitality team at La Tavola. The ideal candidate will possess strong customer service skills, extensive food and beverage knowledge, and the ability to manage bar operations efficiently. As a Senior Bartender, you will be responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere, preparing and serving drinks, and ensuring guests have an exceptional experience. This role requires a professional with a passion for hospitality, excellent time management, and proficiency in food safety standards.
Duties
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with standard recipes and customer preferences.
- Manage bar inventory, including restocking supplies and monitoring product quality.
- Operate POS systems such as Micros POS for order processing and cash handling.
- Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with guests, taking orders, and addressing inquiries or concerns promptly.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and handling protocols to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Assist in training junior staff members on drink preparation, customer service, and safety procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness of the bar area, including cleaning glassware, utensils, and work surfaces.
- Handle cash transactions accurately using basic math skills; perform cashiering duties when necessary.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate serving times for food and beverages during busy hours.
- Uphold hospitality standards by creating a welcoming atmosphere for all guests.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, preferably as a bartender or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Micros POS; experience with cashiering is a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests professionally and courteously.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures.
- Ability to manage time effectively during busy shifts while maintaining attention to detail.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, making change, and managing inventory counts.
- Previous experience working in the food industry or hospitality sector is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
