Smith Trucking Service is looking for a professional and enthusiastic Lube, Maintenance, & Tire Technician to work full-time in Brooks, AB. This position could grow into an apprenticeship as a Heavy Duty Technician for the right candidate.
SUMMARY
Reporting to the Service Manager, you will be responsible for installing and removing wheels and tires on trucks, trailers, and construction equipment in a reliable and safe manner along with the lubrication, preventative maintenance, and minor repair on our large fleet of trucks and trailers.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
- Perform oil changes and lubricate machinery and equipment to ensure smooth operation.
- Check and maintain fluid levels, including brake fluid, power steering fluid, coolant, and transmission fluid.
- Inspect and replace air, oil, and other filters.
- Conduct minor repairs such as, replacing wiper blades, light bulbs, and batteries.
- Perform tire removal/installation/repair on heavy duty trucks, trailers and construction equipment.
- Mounting / dismounting tires on wheels.
- Flat repairs.
- Maintain accurate electronic records of all maintenance and repair work performed on equipment.
- Communicate with operators, technicians, and management to schedule tasks.
- Preference will be given to those with previous experience in a related role.
- Proficient with computers/tablets and their usage.
- Excellent attention to detail during inspections and maintenance.
- Possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s License and acceptable Driver’s Abstract.
- Ability to organize, communicate effectively, and complete tasks in a timely and safe manner.
- Willing to work flexible hours and overtime as required.
- Other shop duties as assigned by management.
- Adhere to Safety requirements and policies.

. Previous experience is considered an asset, however we are willing to train the right person.
