Job Summary
Since 1943 N.R. Murphy Ltd prides itself on being a people-oriented company focused on designing and manufacturing the highest quality of air pollution control equipment. N.R. Murphy is currently looking to hire a general labourer as a part of its fabrication division. In this position, the successful applicant will work alongside the fabrication team to assist in various production and labour tasks.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist with preparing units for painting including installing hardware, caulking, installing filter bags, and cleaning the equipment.
- Operation of the CNC plasma table.
- Assist with shipping and receiving, including material handling, racking steel, and utilizing overhead cranes and forklifts (willing to train).
- Assist the fabrication department through a variety of tasks.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and safe work environment (including washrooms).
- Other general labourer duties for the company as required.
Qualifications
- Punctuality must be on time for shift and be consistent with attendance.
- Able to stand regularly and lift or move up to 50 lbs.
- Physical stamina.
- Ability to read and use tape measure.
- Ability to use hand tools (such as hammer, screw drivers, wrenches, etc).
- Ability to work in a safe manner.
- Ability to follow written and oral directions.
- Experience with grinders, forklifts, cranes, hoists, shears, saws, iron workers, welders, plasma cutters or brake press is an asset.
Other
- 40 hours per week with possible overtime when needed.
- 7am – 4pm Monday – Thursday, 7am – 1pm Friday
- Must bring your own: Steel-toed safety boots
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $19.00-$23.00 per hour
