Mind Builder (French Tutor)
Little Minds Big Futures is growing, and we are looking for a passionate, reliable, and experienced French-speaking Mind Builder (Tutor) to join our team!
A Mind Builder is more than a tutor. Our educators help children build academic skills, confidence, independence, and a positive relationship with learning. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with children and is passionate about helping them reach their potential.
This position is specifically for French tutoring in Southeast Winnipeg, with a hybrid model offering both in-person and online sessions.
About the Role
As a French Mind Builder (Tutor), you will work with students from Kindergarten through Grade 8, providing individualized French instruction based on each child's needs, age, grade level, and learning goals.
You will:
- Provide engaging, individualized French instruction based on student needs
- Support students academically while building confidence and a growth mindset
- Prepare and deliver age-appropriate French learning activities
- Support French reading, writing, vocabulary, comprehension, oral language, and foundational skills
- Monitor student progress and communicate relevant observations to families
- Create a positive, encouraging, and professional learning environment
- Adapt instruction to different learning needs and abilities
- Maintain professional communication with families and the Little Minds Big Futures team
- Follow Little Minds Big Futures' educational approach, expectations, and policies
- Provide in-person sessions in Southeast Winnipeg and/or online sessions, depending on student needs and scheduling
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for a French-speaking educator who is:
- Warm, patient, encouraging, and dependable
- Passionate about helping children learn and grow
- Confident communicating in French with students and families
- Professional and reliable in communication
- Comfortable working independently and taking initiative
- Able to adapt instruction to different learning needs
- Experienced working directly with children
- Comfortable providing both in-person and online instruction
- Currently living in Southeast Winnipeg
- Available to work with families in Southeast Winnipeg
REQUIRED Qualifications
Applicants must have:
- At least 2 years of professional experience in education
- Experience working directly with children
- Strong French language skills
- 2 professional references
- A clear Police Record Check / Vulnerable Sector Check
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- A genuine passion for education and supporting children's learning
- Current residence in Southeast Winnipeg
French teaching experience, French Immersion experience, or experience supporting children learning French is considered an asset.
