We are seeking a compassionate, experienced and dedicated Youth Support Worker to join our team for the role of Monday - Friday 8 am - 4 pm shift lead. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting young individuals, who are involved with child and family services. You will be providing guidance, encouragement, and assistance to foster their development and well-being. The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in working with youth and young adults and a passion for making a positive impact in their lives. This position offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the community while developing valuable skills in youth engagement and support.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one support and mentorship to youth to promote their social, emotional, and developmental growth
- Assist in planning and implementing engaging activities tailored to the needs of residents
- Support residents during daily routines, including educational activities, recreational outings, and behavioral management
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive environment that encourages participation and self-confidence
- Maintain open communication with team members regarding each youth’s needs and progress
- document daily activities and medication dispursment
Skills
- Experience working with individuals involved with CFS
- Prior experience working with youth in residential/group homes
- Strong teaching skills with the ability to adapt approaches based on individual needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with youth
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting young people’s growth
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Organized with good record-keeping abilities to track progress and support planning efforts
Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
