Pharmasave Health Centre #020 is looking for part-time Pharmacy Assistants/Delivery Drivers to join our team in New Westminster, British Columbia.
Patient Focused Care Responsibilities:
- Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care
- Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner
- Assist with entering, labelling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician
- Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols
- Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits
- Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
- Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
- The Pharmacy Assistant will support daily dispensary activities and assist with medication deliveries to patients' residences as required.
- Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned
Delivery Driver Duties:
- Perform pickups and deliveries of medications and medical supplies throughout New Westminster.
- Reports directly to the Pharmacy Manager
- As a company vehicle is not available, candidates will be required to use their own reliable vehicle for deliveries. Mileage reimbursement will be provided.
- Maintains the safety and security of all cargo
- Completes delivery documentation and ensures delivery slips are signed and submitted.
- Maintains accurate records
- Carries out additional duties assigned by the Pharmacy Manager
Qualifications:
- Experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail pharmacy with a preliminary understanding of the pharmacy business is preferred.
- Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is an asset.
- Skilled in using Kroll and highly accurate and efficient in prescription data entry is an asset.
- Candidates will be required to use their own reliable vehicle for deliveries. Mileage reimbursement will be provided.
- Candidates must possess a valid and permanent provincial driver's licence with a safe driving record for the past 3 years.
- First Aid and CPR certification is required.
- Driver’s abstract (dated within 30 days) required
- Trustworthy and dependable, with a high level of professionalism
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a team environment
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize multiple assignments
- Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers
- Ability to lift and maneuver large packages
- Ability to follow procedures and guidelines accurately
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Criminal Record Check required
Schedule:
- 8 to 20 hours per week.
- The store operates Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- The typical shifts for this position will be scheduled within the following days and hours.
