Overview
The Old Ottawa South Community Association (OSCA) is dedicated to building a healthy, active, and engaged community by providing services, programs, and events to residents of Old Ottawa South. OSCA operates out of the old “Firehall” as a service delivery partner for the City of Ottawa and offers a wide variety of recreation programs for all ages including preschool playgroups, after school and day camp programs, fitness and yoga, sports and dance classes, and social/general interest workshops. OSCA’s passionate team of staff and volunteers is committed to making OOS a pleasant, fulfilling, and meaningful place to live.
We are currently seeking a talented and experienced manager to join our team. This is an ideal role for anyone looking to contribute to a not-for-profit, community-minded organization and offers a unique opportunity to develop and deliver recreation programs and community events in a fun and friendly environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of seasonal/sessional programming in a variety of areas including arts, fitness, sports, and recreation.
- Lead the recruitment and selection of part-time staff and assist with onboarding, training, and development.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with other community groups and businesses.
- Provide administrative support to community volunteers including the Board of Directors and various volunteer-led OSCA committees and initiatives.
- Provide ongoing support to the Customer Service team to ensure exceptional service and communication to members, clients, and patrons.
- Assist with the development of an annual operating budget, tracking and reporting of expenses, and administration of grant funds.
Qualifications
- University or College degree in Recreation, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Additional training or certification in Human Resources, Finance, or Management is considered a strong asset.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Budgeting experience with the ability to manage costs effectively while delivering high-quality events.
- Exceptional communication skills for liaising with teams, partners, and community members.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in recreation/sports/day camps in a supervisory role.
- Minimum 2 years of experience (work or volunteer) with a not-for-profit, registered charity, community association or similar organization.

Pay: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
