Position Overview:
We are looking for a Building Electrical Systems Designer to join our dynamic team! No experience is required - we will provide training. You’ll work with a team to create efficient and sustainable designs that meet industry standards. If you enjoy problem-solving and have an interest in electrical and fire alarm systems, this could be a great opportunity for you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Design electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and fire alarm systems for a variety of building types.
- Perform load calculations, equipment selection, and system layout using industry-standard software and tools.
- Create detailed electrical drawings and specifications that meet project requirements and adhere to applicable codes and standards.
- Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, mechanical engineers, interior designers, landscape designers and other project stakeholders to ensure integrated and coordinated design solutions.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve design processes and deliver innovative solutions.
- This position reports to the Electrical Project Lead.
Qualifications:
- Preferred experience within the Engineering Consulting industry.
- Minimum education requirement includes a Electrical Engineering Degree or Electrical Engineering Technologies Diploma.
- Fluency in English is mandatory.
- Attention to detail, strong verbal and written communication skills, multitasking capabilities, and adaptability to a fast-paced office environment are vital.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, ensuring timely project completion.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications is a must; familiarity with Revit is advantageous.
