Do you like working outside while doing good things for the environment? Do you know how to operate and take care of equipment like loaders & excavators? Don’t mind lots of dirt and mud? GRT may be the place for you. GRT’s Resource Regeneration Facility receives trucks & barges of unwanted soil, then washes and sorts the soil to produce clean rock products for reuse.
As a Plant Crew member, you’ll spend your days working hard with our Plant Operators to keep the plant running smoothly and efficiently, while bringing your experience operating heavy equipment on an as-needed basis. When you are operating heavy equipment, you’ll be focused on operating the machine safely, moving material carefully around the site, communicating with the material tracker, and taking care of the machines (pre-trip and post-trip inspections and forms, daily greasing, and maintenance checks). Every day is a little bit different at our plant, so Crew members need to be comfortable responding quickly and safely to directions and changed conditions.
Because our team is small (8-10 people per shift), we like to cross-train all our staff. This means that depending on your interest and aptitude (and our needs) you’ll have the opportunity to develop on-the-job skills in areas like water treatment, plant operations, and material tracking, and that you will be required to help with labour and house keeping.
Schedule is 4 x 10 hour shifts per week, rotating through weekdays and weekends.
