Overview
Little Garage Automotive Service in Canmore, AB is seeking an experienced 3rd year-journeyman tech to join our team.
This is a full-time, long-term position for a dependable mechanic with strong diagnostic and repair skills. Our ideal candidate is an individual with journeyman status, or equivalent experience and credentials. Dealership experience is a valued asset.

Work Setting
Little Garage Automotive Service is a two-bay independent garage. We are well organized, supportive and team-oriented to help everyone make the most of our work days.
Responsibilities
- Confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace units
- Discuss work and repair requirements with supervisor
- Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions
- Inspect motors in operation and review work orders
- Road test motor vehicles to verify repairs
- Test automotive systems and components
- Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of automotive systems
- Repair or replace mechanical units or components
- Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer’s specifications
- Estimate parts and labor costs for vehicle maintenance and repairs
- Perform scheduled maintenance services
- Test and adjust units to specifications
- Advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements
- Complete reports to record problems and work performed
Requirements
- Language: English required; ability to communicate in French is a valuable asset and may be needed to assist clients
- Education: Other trades certificate or diploma, or equivalent experience
- Experience: Minimum 5 years or more in the trade
- Certification: Automotive Service Technician Trade Certification
- License: Valid Class 5 driver’s license
- Work location: On-site at company location
Work Environment and Physical Capabilities
- Fast-paced setting requiring attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity
- Standing for extended periods
- Must provide own tools and wear steel-toed safety boots
