Program, configure, verify, and perform acceptance testing of complex fire alarm systems.
Interpret sequences of operation and implement system programming to meet project requirements.
Diagnose and troubleshoot complex fire alarm and life safety system issues.
Perform system architecture calculations and identify faulty electronic components.
Repair, replace, and commission fire alarm system components.
Interpret and apply applicable fire alarm codes and standards, including CAN/ULC-S524, CAN/ULC-S536, CAN/ULC-S537, and the applicable Building Code.
Prepare detailed verification reports, technical documentation, and inspection records.
Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, wiring diagrams, and integration drawings.
Review project documentation and verify materials required for installations.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, technicians, electricians, and other trades.
Manage fire alarm projects from design review through commissioning and final acceptance.
Mentor and train junior technicians on programming, troubleshooting, and industry best practices.
Travel to customer sites as required and provide technical support during commissioning and service work.
Follow all company safety policies and complete Jobsite Hazard Assessments (JHAs).
Minimum 5 years of experience programming and servicing fire alarm systems.
Strong experience programming and troubleshooting fire alarm systems.
Hands-on experience with Autocall, Simplex, Kidde/Vigilant, and Vesda systems is highly preferred.
Experience with Notifier, Mircom, Siemens, or other fire alarm platforms is considered an asset.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
Strong knowledge of CAN/ULC-S524, CAN/ULC-S536, CAN/ULC-S537, and applicable Building Codes.
ASTTBC Fire Alarm Systems (AL) certification preferred.
CFAA (Canadian Fire Alarm Association) Certification required.
Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with a clean driving record.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders, scaffolding, and elevated work areas.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to travel and work occasional evenings or after-hours when required.
