Job Summary
At Chinook Transport Services, we are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Shipper/Receiver to join our warehouse team that has experience in temperature-controlled cartage company shipping trailer loads containing produce, dairy, meats, seafood, baked goods being stored in the correct tempatured trailers . The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately managing incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring proper inventory and temperature control, and maintaining efficient warehouse operations. This role requires familiarity with warehouse management systems, shipping & receiving procedures, and equipment operation such as a sit forklift and pallet jacks. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced distribution environment, supporting order fulfillment and inventory accuracy.
Duties
- Receive, inspect, and document incoming shipments using warehouse management systems
- Load and unload products safely using forklifts or pallet jacks
- Prepare outgoing shipments by packing orders securely and verifying order accuracy through order picking and basic math calculation.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movements within the warehouse distribution system.
- Assist with order fulfillment processes, including picking, packing, and staging products for shipment.
- Ensure all shipping & receiving activities comply with safety standards and company policies.
- Support warehouse organization by maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize warehouse operations and improve overall efficiency.
Qualifications
- Prior warehouse experience is preferred, especially in shipping & receiving or transportation cartage companies
- Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, or other warehouse equipment is highly desirable.
- Basic math skills for order picking and inventory calculations.
- Knowledge of packaging standards and order fulfillment procedures.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly and stand for extended periods during shift hours.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate order processing and inventory control.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Valid certification for forklift is heavily preferred but not required; training can be provided if necessary.
This role offers an essential position within our distribution operations, supporting efficient logistics workflows while ensuring safety and accuracy in all shipping & receiving activities.
Pay: $20.05-$25.25 per hour
