Electrical Estimator: 5+ Years Experience

About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team. You will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical panels, electrical components, and utility service & solutions. Your work will directly support RTS’s project bids and help drive growth in the Utility and Industrial Automation sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and track relevant RFPs/RFQs and bidding opportunities on client portals.
- Ensure RTS is registered on all necessary procurement and vendor platforms.
- Review project drawings, technical specifications, and client requirements.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical panels, electrical components, and utility projects, considering materials, labor, and subcontractor costs.
- Obtain vendor and supplier pricing for materials and services.
- Prepare and submit competitive bids, including lead letters, schedules, and required documentation.
- Identify potential project risks and anticipate pricing fluctuations.
- Collaborate with sales, engineering, and project teams for pricing accuracy.
- Track bid submissions and follow up with clients, including debriefings when necessary.
- Attend site meetings to assess project conditions when necessary.
- Maintain and update the Approved Vendor List (AVL) and research alternative suppliers.
- Optimize estimation and costing spreadsheets in Excel to improve accuracy.
- Maintain opportunities and lead data in HubSpot.
- Keep quote templates up to date with branding and relevant information.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an Electrical Estimator in industrial, utility, or electrical panel projects.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, panels, and utility solutions.
- Proficient in Excel and HubSpot.
- Experience with vendor pricing, bid preparation, and RFP/RFQ processes.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with multiple teams and work under tight deadlines.
Pay: $55,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
