Duck Bay Lodge is looking for skilled, personable Junior Fishing Guides to join our team on beautiful Lake of the Woods. If you love the outdoors, enjoy meeting new people, and have a solid fishing experience, this could be the perfect seasonal opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Guide guests on dailing fishing trips for walleye, pike, bass and muskie
- Operate and maintain guide boats safely
- Ensure the safety of all participants by adhering to safety protocols and providing clear instructions
- Manage group dynamics, ensuring all guests are engaged and informed throughout the excursion
- Maintain fishing gear and equipment in excellent condition
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions, offering tips, and creating a welcoming environment
- Clean and prepare fish for guests
- Assist with basic dock or lodge tasks when needed
- Assist with camp duties when not guiding
Experience
- Previous experience as a fishing guide or in a related outdoor recreation role is preferred (experience on Lake of the Woods)
- Must enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Strong public speaking skills with the ability to teach and engage diverse groups of clients
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to manage groups effectively
- Proven customer service experience with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Passion for fishing and outdoor activities with a commitment to safety and environmental responsibility
