Duties
- Operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners, and drying machines following strict protocols.
- Prepare surgical instruments and medical devices for sterilization by cleaning, inspecting, and packaging them appropriately.
- Monitor sterilization cycles to ensure proper functioning and adherence to safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes, including cycle logs and equipment maintenance reports.
- Conduct routine quality checks on sterilized instruments to verify cleanliness and sterility.
- Follow all infection control guidelines, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements related to sterilization practices.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure timely availability of sterile instruments for scheduled procedures.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of medical terminology and sterilization procedures is essential.
- Prior experience working in a healthcare environment or sterile processing department is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain accurate documentation.
- Good communication skills for effective collaboration with medical staff.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks efficiently.
- Certification in sterile processing or related training is a plus but not mandatory.
