Keystone Mechanical Group Inc. is seeking an experienced, licensed HVAC Service Technician to join our team. This is a full-time, field-based position serving commercial and residential clients throughout Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area.
The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, maintaining and repairing a wide range of heating, cooling and ventilation equipment. We are looking for a dependable technician who can work independently, communicate professionally with customers and consistently complete work safely and to a high standard.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, service and repair HVAC and mechanical systems
- Perform preventive maintenance and equipment inspections
- Complete heating, cooling and ventilation installations as required
- Identify equipment deficiencies and recommend appropriate repairs or replacements
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, construction drawings, schematics and equipment manuals
- Work with electrical components and control systems related to HVAC equipment
- Complete service reports and other required job documentation accurately
- Communicate findings, repair options and job progress clearly to customers and supervisors
- Follow applicable safety procedures, manufacturer specifications, codes and industry regulations
- Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to emergency service calls when scheduled
- Maintain company tools, equipment and service vehicles in a clean and professional condition
Required Qualifications
- Minimum three years of experience as an HVAC service technician
- Valid Ontario 313A Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic Certificate of Qualification
- Valid G2 Gas Technician certificate or higher
- Valid Ontario G-class driver’s licence with a clean driving record
- Demonstrated experience servicing, maintaining and troubleshooting a variety of HVAC systems
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and construction drawings
- Knowledge of applicable Ontario codes, regulations and workplace safety requirements
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities
- Strong interpersonal and customer-service skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role safely, with or without reasonable accommodation
Equipment Experience
Experience working with the following equipment is preferred:
- Rooftop units
- Furnaces and air-conditioning systems
- Ductless split systems
- Heat pumps
- Fan coil units
- Boilers and hydronic systems
- Chillers
- Energy recovery ventilators and heat recovery ventilators
- Hot-water tanks and tankless water heaters
- Make-up air units
- Humidifiers
- Unit heaters
- Exhaust fans
Assets
- G1 Gas Technician certificate
- 308A Sheet Metal Worker Certificate of Qualification
- Welding experience
- Experience with HVAC controls and building automation systems
- Commercial and light-industrial HVAC experience
Schedule
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime as required
- Weekend work as required
- Participation in an on-call rotation
