About Graydor
For more than 40 years, Graydor Flooring has been one of Ontario’s most trusted commercial flooring partners. We work with general contractors, construction managers, and builders across the GTA, delivering end-to-end flooring on commercial projects of every scale — from floor preparation, levelling, and underlayment through carpet, resilient, and porcelain installation, decorative concrete and resinous finishes, and custom applications.
We’ve built our reputation on a simple standard: we finish what we start, and we do it with honesty and craftsmanship. That’s how we’ve earned a 100% job-completion record over four decades and a roster of repeat clients who treat us as a preferred partner.
The Role
We’re looking for an experienced commercial flooring Project Manager to own projects end to end — from bid through completion — and deliver them on time, on budget, and to Graydor’s quality standard.
You’ll carry a portfolio of 6 to 12 concurrent projects ranging from roughly $10,000 to $1,000,000, working closely with the estimator and General Manager at the front end and taking the lead once a job is won. You have final say on your projects, and you rely on the skill and experience of our foremen and field crews to execute the work. You’ll also lead a coordinator who supports the office-based side of your jobs. This is a role for someone who knows commercial flooring, can juggle a busy portfolio without letting details slip, and takes genuine ownership of the outcome on every project.
What You’ll Own
Bid to Award
- Partner with the estimators, project managers, and owners during bidding — reviewing scope, takeoffs, and pricing, and flagging risks before a number goes out.
- Help turn awarded bids into a clear plan: budget, schedule, materials, and labour.
Project Execution
- Own your projects from award through completion and closeout — you have final say on how your jobs run.
- Direct and coordinate foremen and field crews on your projects, drawing on their experience and craft to execute the work well.
- Manage schedules and sequencing across a portfolio of 6–10 active jobs, keeping each on time and on budget.
- Serve as the main point of contact for general contractors and construction managers on your projects — communicating clearly, resolving issues, and protecting the relationship.
- Track project financials and margins, and keep each job profitable.
Client Relationships & Business Development
- Build and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, construction managers, and builders — becoming a trusted, go-to contact they want on their next project.
- Source new work through your relationships and reputation — getting Graydor onto bid lists and in front of the right decision-makers.
- Look beyond the current job for repeat and new business, turning well-run projects into the next opportunity.
Change Orders, Materials & Documentation
- Manage change orders and extras — identify them, price them, log them, and get them approved.
- Oversee material ordering and delivery timing so crews have what they need when they need it.
- Keep project documentation accurate and current.
Leading the Coordinator
- Lead and direct a coordinator who assists with office-based job functions — estimating support, logging change orders and extras, ordering materials, and general project administration.
- Delegate effectively so you stay focused on running the work.
What We’re Looking For
Must-haves
- 3–5+ years of commercial flooring experience in a project management or comparable role.
- Strong technical flooring knowledge — you understand the materials, methods, and what can go wrong on a site.
- Proven ability to run multiple projects at once without losing control of schedule, budget, or quality.
- Comfort with the full project lifecycle: bidding and estimating support, scheduling, change orders, material procurement, and closeout.
- Strong communication and relationship skills with GCs, construction managers, and field crews.
- A valid driver’s license and a reliable personal vehicle for regular travel to sites across the GTA (car allowance provided).
What Sets a Candidate Apart
- Existing relationships within the Southern Ontario commercial construction and flooring industry.
- Experience directing field crews and getting the best out of skilled foremen.
- A track record of delivering projects profitably and keeping clients coming back.
Compensation
- Base salary of $100,000–$120,000, commensurate with experience.
- Team performance-based bonus tied to project and company results.
- Car allowance to cover regular travel across the GTA.
