Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Hostess to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will serve as the welcoming face of our establishment, ensuring guests have a positive first impression and an enjoyable dining experience. This role requires excellent communication skills, a warm demeanor, and the ability to manage guest flow efficiently. Prior experience in guest services, hospitality, or food service is preferred but not mandatory, as training will be provided. The Host/Hostess plays a vital role in creating a welcoming atmosphere and supporting smooth restaurant operations.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage waitlists efficiently
- Escort guests to their tables and provide menus
- Handle reservations and manage seating arrangements to optimize flow
- Answer phone inquiries with professional phone etiquette
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host station
- Communicate effectively with servers and kitchen staff to coordinate seating and service flow
- Assist guests with special requests or accommodations as needed
- Operate POS systems such as Toast POS and Toast Tables for reservations and seating management
- Provide excellent customer service to ensure guest satisfaction from arrival to departure
- Support the team during busy periods by assisting with basic food service tasks if necessary
Requirements
- Previous experience in guest services, hospitality, or food service is a plus but not required; training will be provided
- Strong communication skills and friendly demeanor
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of POS systems such as Toast POS is advantageous
- Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills
- Ability to work well with team members and adapt to changing priorities
- Professional appearance and positive attitude
- Experience in restaurant or hotel environments is beneficial but not mandatory
