Job Summary
Échelle Canada designs, manufactures, and installs access and fall-protection systems (fixed ladders, guardrails, horizontal lifelines, custom access platforms) for industrial, commercial, and institutional buildings across Ontario. We're growing our Toronto-based team and looking for a Technical Sales Representative who can speak knowledgeably with facility managers, engineers, and consultants about roof access and fall-protection solutions.
Responsibilities
- Build and manage a pipeline of manufacturers, building owners, and consulting engineers/architects across Ontario
- Conduct site visits and assessments to recommend appropriate access/fall-protection solutions
- Prepare quotes, proposals, and preliminary layouts in coordination with our in-house design office
- Explain code/compliance basics (OHSA, Ontario Building Code, CSA fall-protection standards) to non-technical buyers
- Represent Échelle Canada at industry events, trade shows, and lunch-and-learns with engineering/architecture firms
- Stay current on industry trends, new technologies, and regulatory standards related to fall protection and access systems.
- Maintain detailed records of client interactions, sales activities, and technical documentation using CRM tools.
Experience
- 2+ years of B2B technical sales experience — construction, industrial safety/PPE, roofing, scaffolding, or related building products
- Demonstrated ability to read basic site drawings/specs and discuss technical requirements with engineers or facility managers
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and analysis skills for assessing client needs effectively.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to job sites across the GTA and Ontario
- Comfortable with a consultative, relationship-driven sales cycle (weeks to months, not one-call-close)
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical information into clear value propositions for clients.
Nice-to-Have
- Existing relationships with building-envelope consultants, architects, or industrial facility managers in Ontario
- Familiarity with fall-protection standards (CSA Z259 series) or OHSA Reg. 851
- Experience with CRM tools (HubSpot, Salesforce, etc.)
