Duties
- Safely operate commercial trucks to transport freight across designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and load securement
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary, ensuring proper handling and safety procedures
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery documentation, and freight manifests in compliance with legal requirements
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues promptly
- Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts for loading and unloading cargo when required, demonstrating proficiency in handling such machinery
- Conduct basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting minor mechanical issues to minimize downtime during routes
Experience
- Valid AZ commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial driving, freight transportation, or related logistics roles
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation, including forklifts and other loading machinery
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to freight handling and vehicle operation
- Ability to perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting is a plus
- Strong communication skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately
